If your looking for a well crafted violin for a low price, this 1900 Heinrich Th. Heberlein, Jr. Violin will do very well. It will make for a very good violin for the advancing student. Its varnish and over all condition is very good. The reason it is so affordable is because of the repairs that have been made on it. There are three repaired cracks. The top has two by the treble f-hole. The f-hole also has a sliver of wood missing. On the back there is a crack in the soundpost area that can be seen on the back but did not come through to the inside. All repairs are stable and it is ready for many years of enjoyable playing.
The tone of this Heberlein is more on the bright side. This is a quality violin that is easy to play and will produce beautiful music for the talented advancing student. The recording below will give you some idea of what this violin can do for you.
